Deyan is a Senior Associate in DGKV`s Banking & Finance and Energy and Utilities practices. He joined DGKV as a Senior Associate in 2022. Having previously worked as in-house counsel at one of Bulgaria’s leading banks, he has worked on a number of landmark projects and has significant transactional expertise in the finance sector. Deyan’s practice is mainly focused on Projects, Energy, Real Estate, Corporate, and Acquisition Financings, and syndicated lending. He has also advised clients on large-scale quasi-sovereign public bond issues and venture-capital matters.
Recent representative projects include:
- Advising a syndicate of lenders — EBRD, Black Sea Trade and Development Bank, OTP Bank, NLB Bank, UniCredit, and Kommunalkredit, in connection with a €315 million HoldCo financing for Renalfa IPP, a leading regional renewables platform.
- Advising OTP Bank Plc. and DSK Bank AD in extending an additional EUR 70,000,000 financing for AES Geo Energy OOD.
- Advising UniCredit Bulbank in relation to the project financing of 58MWh BESS project extension of the existing 112.5MW solar photovoltaic power plant near Ruse, Bulgaria, extended to Tsenovo Solar Plant OOD.
- Advising a US investment fund on Bulgarian-law aspects of an EU securitization transaction.
- Advising a syndicate of four Bulgarian lenders and UniCredit Bulbank AD in its capacity as agent and arranger on a EUR 50 million revolving credit facility extended to a Bulgarian producer of copper materials.
- Advising IFC on the restructuring of a long-term project financing to a leading steel manufacturer in Bulgaria.
